MONROWE speaks with British-born designer and stylist, Victoria Bartlett, to discuss the film which has inspired her the most.
What is your favorite film reference?
Bartlett: The Conformist by Bernado Bertolucci (1970).
What about it inspires you?
Bartlett: It’s a heavy story-line distilled by its stylisation. Dominique Sanda is one of my favorite actresses and is so stylish in this movie. She portrayed the duality of a male/female aesthetic in a 1930’s interpretation. I feel that Chloë Sevigny referenced her own look from Sanda.
